We’ve all had bunk computers in are past and had to deal with the constant FPS Drop, We also know the hassle of creating a budget then saving the money to build a PC that’s where we come in offering different budget builds weekly, so I hope you enjoy the budget build for this week the $1000 Budget Gaming Build for March. $1000 is a lot of money to spend on a PC but let me tell you it’s way worth it there’s nothing more satisfying then building a reliabel upgradeable not bunk PC while getting 60+ frames on max settings.

CPU

For the CPU we chose the Intel 8th gen i5-8400 Processor we chose this over the Ryzen 5 1600 because with 6 cores and 6 threads at 2.8GHz running coffee lake the i5-8400 has a base clock of 2.8 GHz and a core boost of 3.8 GHz and a single core boost of 4 GHz. The i5-8400 also has 9MB of L3 cache and uses 65W, costing $179.00 offers fantastic value for money. We’ll leave the ryzen 5 1600 for multi-tasking and editing where it has the edge with its 6 cores and 12 threads at 3.2 GHz running zen, it has a 35% faster OC multi-core speed costing $175.97 with a Post-purchase rebate of $20.

Motherboard

The motherboard we chose for this build was the GIGABYTE Z370P D3 using socket LGA 1151 which has 4 Memory slots capping at 64GB using DDR4 having LED Trace Path with PCIe Gen3 x4 & SATA interface RGB FUSION supports RGB LED strips in 7 colors Smart Fan 5 features

with Multiple Temperature Sensors.

RAM

For Ram you have three choices getting Kingston HyperX FURY Black 8GB Kit (2x4GB) DDR4 with a 2,133 MHz clock speed costing $94.99 which stays in the $1000 Budget or grabbing the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM with a 2133MHz clock speed costing $178.99 Which will put you over budget by $111.89, if you want to use this pc to do some hardcore editing you might want to upgrade if its just for gaming you don’t need it.

Graphics card

The best graphics card for this budget is the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 AMP Edition 6GB GDDR5 it has a duel fan system for better cooling,it beat the RX 480 in 3D mark fire strike, 3D mark sky diver, battle field 4 ultra (2560 x 1440) , and crisis 3 ultra (2560 x 1440) the prices of graphics cards have recently skyrocketed because of cryptocurrency mining which sucks but hopefully the prices go down soon.

Storage

For storage we went with the WD Blue 2TB Desktop Hard Drive which is insanely cheap at $58.99 for 2 TB! Having a 64MB Cache using a SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache.

Power supply

Thermaltake Smart 600W 80+ costing $42.94 (28% off) just be careful because this isn’t a modular PSU so you’re going to have to tuck put some time in cable managing put for $42 that’s a steal!

Cooling

For cooling we decided to go with the Corsair CW-9060016-WW Hydro Series H105 its one of the best CPU single loop water cooling units having a 240mm duel radiator only costing $99.99

Case

The case we chose was the NZXT S340 Mid Tower only costing 62.99 and it comes in black, red and black, white ,black and green black and blue to fit a bunch of different color schemes having a steel construction and minimalist look it has great cable management because It uses bars instead of grommets, and there are clamps along the rear to hold everything in place, which is really handy because the power supply isn’t modular this is also a great case for beginners.
